Revelation 20:6: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
What men should fear the most is the wages of sin. But millions if not billions of people fear pollution more than they fear the wages of sin. The Bible promises that God is going to bind Satan for a thousand years and Jesus and His people are going to reign on the earth during that thousand years. There won*t be pollution then. Since Jesus has not yet reigned on earth for a thousand years, it means that no one is going to destroy the place for at least a thousand more years. Active volcanoes around the globe are spewing much more pollution into the atmosphere of the earth than the pollution caused by men. There is no chance that men could stop the pollution of even one volcano, much less all of them. Though men are powerless to prevent the bulk of pollution that happens to the earth and the death that causes, there is a way to avoid the wages of sin. Jesus died on the Cross and paid the wages of our sin. Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.When men receive Jesus, the Bible teaches that they are dead with Him and won*t have to die that death again. Romans 6:8: Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:John 11:26a: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. . . . Believers will still die physically, but they will never die spiritually. Spiritual death is separation from God and that will never happen to them. Unforgiven sin is the ultimate cause of all death, physical and spiritual. Pollution is just one means of death. The wages of their sin kills many more people in ways not related to pollution. Getting hit by a truck, thousands at a time in an earthquake, getting struck by lightning, heart attacks and strokes come to mind. None of those things will happen until and unless God permits them. Men should fear spiritual death far more than physical death. For those that reject Jesus and the life that is in Him, their spiritual death lasts forever. Every mortal man is going to die physically but they need not die spiritually. |
